LATEST PRESS RELEASE

Extracted from The Star (17th October 2014)
Discovering the tastes of Penang

Students of SEGi College Penang had a joyful time exploring George Town’s streets to uncover tasty treats, in the ‘Snap and Eat Heritage Food Hunt’ organized by the college’s School of Hospitality and Tourism (SHT).

Held in conjunction with the annual World Tourism Day, it gave participants a newfound appreciation of the city’s status as a gastronomic paradise, a better understanding of the importance of tourism and heightened spirit of camaraderie.

Malaysia’s diverse multi-ethnic make-up results in a remarkably rich, intangible cultural heritage of food, especially in Penang, which is seen as a ‘street food heavens’ by people the world over. For the students, their city is a ‘heritage food heaven’.

Hunters find 2014 hunt trickier

KUALA LUMPUR: PARTICIPANTS of the New Sunday Times Motor Hunt 2014 last Sunday remained bright-eyed and bushy-tailed throughout the hunting expedition even though the riddles and clues this year were trickier than in the last two years.

Among them, one stood out — literally — as she was eight months’ pregnant. Wirda Wina did not let that deter her from giving her all during the hunt.

The 31-year-old said this was her second consecutive year in the hunt and she decided to take part even though she was pregnant with her fourth child.

IN LOVING MEMORY

HNN is sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but a great friend of our hunt fraternity, Zahrol Kadir has unfortunately passed away on 15th August 2014.

We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Zahrol was a fine modest, private man. He was the epitome of a refined gentleman and always treated everyone with utmost respect. He has certainly left the world better than he found it.

Famously known as the COC for Fun Hunt People, he has entertained us with many hunts for the past few years; notably Cyberview Hunt 2008, Kembara Ansara 2009, Amazing Kidney Treasure Hunt 2010, Belia 1Malaysia Walk Hunt 2011 etc.

We will miss him a great deal!

Our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences go out to his family members!

More photos below in memory of him!

5 LESSONS OF SUCCESS FROM THE WORLD CUP 2014 FOR HUNTERS

Extracted from THS Tulip newsletter (Jul-Sep Edition 2014)

THE WORLD seemed to grind to a standstill every four years, when most people were somehow caught in the magic of The World Cup.

During June and July recently, the talks around the ‘mamak’ stalls invariably revolved around the favorite squads, star players, wonderful goals and defining moments during the matches in Brazil.

As the football fiesta came to an end with Germany crowned as the champion, it is interesting to reflect on the tournament and how this can relate to our world of treasure hunt.

THS WALK HUNT 2014 PENANG - News

Listening intently to the final briefing!!!

Extracted from THS Tulip newsletter (Jul-Sep Edition 2014)
THS Walk Hunt also made a comeback in 2014 to the Pearl of the Orient. However there was a twist this time!

During 2012 and 2013, the hunts have traditionally taken place in shopping malls. Whether the venues were Gurney Plaza, Queensbay Mall or 1st Avenue, these were indoor sites, where the hunters were cozily pampered in an air-conditioned enclosed environment, with no vehicle traffic to fret about.

Come this year, the hunts have now become open-air affairs, which presented a unique challenge on its own.

Putting their best foot forward

MORE than 200 people from all ages took part in the Sanuk Penang Walkabout Hunt held in two shopping malls and the heritage zone of George Town.

It was organised by footwear retailer Sanuk. Plenty of activities were in store and it was ‘sanuk’ (Thai word for fun) for the participants.

The event started at Queensbay Mall where participants were given clues to solve questions before heading to 1st Avenue where they were given three different assignments to undertake.
