Rapid Penang Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mej (Rtd) Mohd Shukri Abdul Rahman said the main focus of the event was to build a closer connection between the bus operator and its customers.

“We hope that the participants will interact with one another,” he said.

“Through this event, we also wish the public to know how Rapid Penang’s route planning is done and how fun and enjoyable our bus rides can be,” he said.

Treasure hunters were given two passbooks, the first provided minutes before the flag-off ceremony.

Participants were shuttled off on special Rapid Penang buses to Weld Quay for the first half of the event.

The first passbook comprised a list of questions and activities that needed to be completed around the George Town heritage zone in three hours.

Participants then returned to the park to submit the passbook and collect the second one.

The second passbook came with a set of activities that needed to be completed in the vicinity of the park.

One of the groups that was made up of students from Universiti Sains Malaysia said that they were excited to participate in the hunt and that the team’s strategy was to run as fast as they could to complete their quests.
The hunt saw 10 winners from each category, with the first to fifth winners taking home cash prizes and the rest receiving hampers worth up to RM100.
