DOWN THE HUNT MEMORY LANE 2012

For ardent treasure hunters, 2012 was surely an exciting year!

With more than 70 hunts during the period, inevitably all hunters have their own preferences of certain events; perhaps the memory of sweet victories, the grief of near misses, the revival of theSun Motor Hunt, the arrival of new hunts etc.

Whatever the reasons, as the clock ticked towards the new year of 2013, it's always interesting to review 2012 events.

THESUN PAST MOTOR HUNTS - News

theSun Motor Hunt 2006

theSun Motor Hunt 2007

theSun Motor Hunt 2008

theSun Motor Hunt 2009

theSun Motor Hunt was the brainchild of Mr. Phillip Karuppiah, a former managing director of theSun and an avid hunter himself. Inaugurated in 2004, theSun Motor Hunt aptly known as "The Mother of All Hunts" earned its moniker from the record number of participants taking part in this event each year, in addition to the record number of prizes handed out by generous sponsors. In 2006, a whopping 280 teams registered to take part in this event.

TheSun Motor Hunt, which is within the vicinity of the Klang Valley, is certainly not for the faint hearted, for it is well known to be one of the more challenging, if not the most challenging treasure hunt event on the hunting calendar. Teams are separated into two categories of Master and Novice with elite teams competing in the Master category having to face questions of a much higher level of difficulty.

YELLOW OUTSIDE, MALAYSIAN INSIDE

Extracted from THS Tulip (Oct-Dec Edition 2012)

PENANG 22 JULY 2012: It all started with an innocuous posting on the blog. The participants were duly instructed to wear yellow during 22nd July gathering at a famous chicken fast-food restaurant in Queensbay Mall.

Somehow, things couldn’t turn out more surprisingly traumatic at the rendezvous!

At first glance, this would seem like a harmless reunion of old buddies, or a meet-up of Brazilian football fans. Funnily this could even pass as a convention for Digi’s Yellow Men.

And yet for the eatery manager, as more attendees in amber attire gradually trickled in, one could almost swear that beads of cold sweat began to stream down his forehead. You couldn’t blame him for his instinctive concern; he doubtlessly pondered whether his outlet was the unwitting venue sponsor of an illicit congregation.

And his worst suspicions promptly turned into a misery during the briefing and group photo session of THS Walk Hunt Series 2012 – Penang Leg 2.

We are having fun!!!

One with Steven Spielberg's movie points I'll give you,
That's enough though but to be sure look at the sides,
Hand in an unused one so please get it without a rush.

Treasure 2

The product of its colony you must land,
It surely goes well with a cuppa in hand,
