announces treasure hunt contest
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Association fo Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) announced its first ever Matta Treasure Hunt contest for the public today.
Matta
president Hamzah Rahmat said in conjunction with Discover Perak 2015, the route
for the Matta Treasure Hunt is the North-South Expressway from Kuala Lumpur to
Ipoh.
"This
contest aims to promote domestic tourism in Selangor and Perak," he said
in a press conference at Wisma Matta here.
"For
the contestants, they will get to enjoy the scenic view and discover iconic
places, historical buildings and good food along the way during the treasure
hunt contest," he added.
The
treasure hunt will commence on April 18 at the Malaysia Tourist Centre (Matic)
in Jalan Ampang. The flag-off is at 7.30am and the finishing line is at the
Matta Perak Chapter in Ipoh.
Entry
fee is RM500 per car for Matta members and RM600 per car for non-members. The
fee includes participation fees, accommodation at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel,
Ipoh and two days buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Prizes
for the winners will be presented at the hotel ballroom at 10am on 19 April.
The grand prize is RM3,000 in cash, second prize RM2,000, third prize RM1,000
and consolation prizes.
