ATMAH CHARITY TREASURE HUNT 2012 - News

Atmah Charity Treasure Hunt 2012 successfully made its journey from KL to the historical city of Malacca on 4th Aug 2012. With COC Pava's Hunts, the event attracted about 90 teams of treasure hunters.

In fact, it actually kicked off much earlier, with the release of treasure questions during the briefing on Thu (2nd Aug 2012). If you are not one of the Atmah hunters, have a try at some of the treasure questions:-

Treasure 1
The first treasure you need to find is a sort of a scrub,
Only if you get coal mined it will be one that's proper,
One with Steven Spielberg's movie points I'll give you,
That's enough though but to be sure look at the sides,
Hand in an unused one so please get it without a rush.

Treasure 2
Female representation of a great island,
The product of its colony you must land,
It surely goes well with a cuppa in hand,
I am are you finally clear of my demand?
You get it right and I will not reprimand.

Treasure 3
From our main edible goodies sponsor is this treasure,
A sweet chocolaty item I'm sure for kids it will be a pleasure,
Monsters at war this treasure must measure,
Any pack in any size intact and the points I shall ensure.

The answers to the treasure questions will be shared at a later date.

Community fun in charity treasure hunt

THE annual ATMAH (Action To Mobilise All Humanity) Charity Treasure Hunt is back.

The eighth edition will take participants on a fun-filled trip from the Petaling Jaya Civic Centre to A’Famosa Resort in Malacca on Aug 4-5.

It promises a great weekend for family and friends to explore history, as well as help a local charity empower poor children from urban slums through education and personal development.

The motor treasure hunt will also be a test of wits as participants have to unravel clues on hidden treasures that will later be donated to charity. A grasp of general knowledge will be put to good use as participants get to think out of the box.

Organised by Pava’s Hunts, it often proves to be a bonding experience for families, friends and colleagues as they get to see beautiful sights.

Each participant will receive a goodie bag, which gets more enticing every year, thanks to the generosity of a growing list of sponsors.

The ATMAH Charity Treasure Hunt also offers a RM3,000 first prize, RM2,000 second prize and RM1,000 third prize. There are also consolation prizes.

Dinner at A’Famosa Resort will also offer participants the chance to win prizes through the trivia quiz contest.

The night will also offer music and dance performances and party till late.

Above all, you will be helping a good cause, as all proceeds will go towards the ATMAH Project community programme as the treasure hunt is held every year to raise funds for various weekend community projects by a team of volunteers from all walks of life.

It runs community programmes aimed at children from poor urban neighbourhoods, such as those from low-cost flats and squatters, since 2001 and it has made a significant impact to the lives of its beneficiaries.

A self-study centre, which opens daily until 10pm, for children living in the high density low-cost flats in Desa Mentari near Jalan Klang Lang in also run by the ATMAH Project under the supervision of a tutor.

The treasure hunt will be flagged off at 8am from the PJ Civic Centre on Aug 4.

Some 400 participants will compete in teams of four per vehicle. Entry fee is RM680 per team, which includes the treasure hunt as well as the night’s stay in Malacca’s A’Famosa Resort, featuring the buka puasa prize-giving dinner and sahur/breakfast the next morning.

Team entries and sponsors are welcome. For more information, visit www.atmah.org/hunt2012 or call the hotline number at 017-3131136.
