Dear Treasure Hunters,

This is the final email send out regarding this hunt. So far, very few questions asked regarding the hunt, thus I assume the details given in earlier emails are sufficient.

So, all set for the hunt. Just two more things for the final update..

We have 31 pax now, 8 cars with one car short of one hunter. We would like to close it with 32 pax (8 teams), all have 4 members.

So, there is one more place left, those that not in the above list and able to make it to the hunt, can still join the 'fun'.

2) Prizes:

Although this should be the least important feature for festival hunt like this as the main reason is more to get together, Pava and me gladly announce that there are 4 team prizes to be won, top 4 get the prizes.

Thus, with 8 teams in the hunt, there is 50 percent chance you can win a prize tomorrow.

Below are the details of the hunt.

Hunt Theme

"Romance of the Snakes, Tales and Chinese Civilisation"

Flag Off Venue

8am - Pappa Rich, Jalan Radin Bagus, Seri Petaling, same row with Herbs & Spices and direct opposite of The Store Car Park

- Pappa Rich Seri Petaling is opened as early as 7.30am daily, but the first order of food only available by 8.00am, you can go in and have a seat at Pappa Rich as early as 7.30am though.

- if you order your food at 8.00am sharp, there should be sufficient time that you can finished the food by 8.30am, where the hunt flag off officially starts.

- or there is a Mamak Shop called Restoran D'Curry Leaf a stone throw away from Pappa Rich, which has opened by that time.

8.15am - Mix & Match

8.30am - Hunt Flag Off

Car Park

For non-hunting car, you can park your car at The Store or in front of the shop lots. Both ways are Free of Charge.

For those that park at The Store, you can park nearer to the small side gate just opposite of Pappa Rich.

For hunting car, it is better for you all to park in front of Pappa Rich.

Prizes

Champion will at least get a hamper/cash vouchers compliments of Pava and me. Fellow hunters can also donate prizes for champion and other placings.

So far we have two donations of electronic goods for prizes. One is from team Hunters R Us.

Donations could be anything like cookies, vouchers, goods (that do not offend anyone) and etc.

Please let Pava and myself know, if you all have something for the prizes. Thank you.

Hunt Format

30 Route Clues X 5 = 150 pts

4 Treasure Clues X 7 = 28 pts

1 Challenge = 10 pts

(The Challenge are questions given to you during flagoff, and teams can only answer it by going to a specific venue given in tulip.)

Total = 188 pts.

Teams that go for Mix & Match, need to be at Pappa Rich for Card Drawing, latest by 8.15am, if not Pava & me will draw on your behalf.

Cards will be divided this way, let's say we have 32 pax and 8 teams.

1) 1-8 of spades will be drawn only by 8 driver hunters only

2) 1-8 of hearts will be drawn only by 8 most non-regular/junior in terms of hunting (to be decided by COC)

3) 1-8 of clubs and 1-8 of diamonds will be drawn only by the remaining 16 passenger hunters

Reason for this arrangement is we want to ensure that non-regular/junior hunters will get to hunt with 3 gurus in the team.

Teams that want to go with their selected team mates instead, can do so, but will be given 13 points penalty as mentioned earlier.

Itineraries

1) Please be at Pappa Rich, Seri Petaling by 8am. Mix & Match will take place at 8.15am.

2) 8.30am, hunt start.

3) Ending time 1.30pm, no penalty. DQ from 1.31pm onwards.

4) Lunch start at 1.31pm.

5) Team composition - 4 in a car, some teams will get 3 maybe.

6) Hunt format = as explained above, with 13 points penalty to team that not opt for Mix & Match due to not following the spirit of Chinese New Year of mixing around randomly.

7) Tie breaker: 1) Challenge points 2) Question count back 3) earliest to hand in.

8) Go home by 3.30pm.

9) Those that want to stay back, to further celebrate CNY together, this can be arranged.

To all Treasure Hunters,

This is a gentle reminder to all of you that 2013 CNY Hunt, "Romance of the Snakes, Tales and Chinese Civilisation" will be held on 17 February 2012, Sunday. And we need the 40 pax (or very close from 40) by 25 January 2012 (Friday), to make the hunt happens. This early confirmation is necessary, as we need to book the food caterers/venues and also for us to gauge whether there is enough numbers for Pava/me to start the hunt recce on this holiday weekends. So, please get back to us by the 25 January on your presence. Thank you.

For your info, currently we have 18 pax registered (some have bank in, and some promised to bank in by 25 January). So, we need about just 22 more. Below is the list of registered hunters for this hunt.

Dear Treasure Hunters,

Pava and I are pleased to invite you to our 2013 CNY Hunt, this year, called "Romance of the Snakes, Tales and Chinese Civilisation" on 17 February 2012, Sunday.

We were struggling to look for a suitable date, and after consulting with some of the hunters, we have decided to hold the hunt on this date instead of choosing the Cap Goh Mei weekend as the hunt date. Yes, we are aware it is on the 8th day of CNY, a day before the Ninth Day of CNY "Pai Tin Kong", especially important to the Hokkiens. The hunt will be held on the morning 8am and will end at 1pm. Lunch start at 1.15pm and we should call it a day by 3.30pm.

As in the past, CNY Treasure Hunt is the hunt where hunters Mix and Match by drawing cards to determine hunt mates, and we would HIGHLY ENCOURAGE this tradition to be continued. Thus, the hunt format is

32 Route Clues X 5 = 160 pts
4 Treasure Clues X 7 = 28 pts
Total = 188 pts.

Prizes: Subject to donations from fellow hunters (HINT !! HINT !!), the Champion will get at the least a Hamper compliments of Pava and me.

Participants/Teams that opt NOT to Mix and Match (i.e. choose their own teammates) carry a 13 pts penalty.

Why 13? Because this is the year of 2013 ma.

So, after all this I hope most will opt for Mix and Match. As almost everybody on the list (please pass on if we have forgotten) are regular hunters, no need for an entry form.

This is a Chinese New Year celebration hunt, thus the fellowship of hunters with food and drinks is the main objective. So in the spirit of CNY please stay back for the lunch. Non-lunch hunting participants still need to pay RM 35, and this will go to the funds for prizes and etc.

To help us with the catering and logistics, we will need you to confirm participation with the above details by 25 January 2012 (Friday). The entry fee collected will fully go to Herbs & Spices, Seri Petaling, our lunch venue. It is a certified Halal venue. And it is a buffet lunch catering come with a "Yee Sang", on their first floor function room come with stage, sound system and round tables for 10 pax.

We need 40 pax (equivalent to 10 cars with 10 drivers) in order for us to proceed to do recce after 25 January 2012. If we do not achieve the number by the date, we will call off this hunt. Thus, please revert and make your payment before 25 January 2012 (Friday).

1) Flag off and ending point: Herbs & Spices, Seri Petaling (Sun Hunt 2012, First Master Question Sector).

2) Mix & Match will take place at 7.30am on hunt day. NO SEEDING on Mix & Match in drawing cards to determine your hunt partners for the next few hours. It is entirely depends on the card that you pick up,

3) 8.00am, hunt start.

4) Ending time 1.00pm, no penalty. DQ from 1.01pm onwards.

5) Lunch start at 1.15pm.

6) Team composition - 4 in a car, some teams will get 3 maybe.

7) Hunt format = as explained above, with 13 points penalty to team that not opt for Mix & Match due to not following the spirit of Chinese New Year of mixing around randomly.
