Kiwanis Treasure Hunt aims to raise RM650,000 this year

Treasure hunters should get their thinking caps ready as the highly anticipated Kiwanis Treasure Hunt returns for its 31st edition this year.

This year’s event, themed “All For One”, has been set for May 31 and the destination is the Ancasa Royale River Resort in Pekan, Pahang.

With them are Lim (fifth from left) and his wife Datin Seri Karen Lim (in red dress) and Bina Puri Holdings chairman Tan Sri Wong Foon Meng (fifth from right).

Present at the launch on Thursday at the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation National Centre were treasure hunt organising chairman Godfrey Rajalingam and representatives of the sponsors.

Special guests were LBS Bina Group managing director Datuk Seri Lim Hock San whose company is one of the two special Hixson sponsors — contributing RM120,000 to the treasure hunt.

The other Hixson sponsor, Bina Puri Holdings is also contributing RM120,000 to the event.

“This year’s theme reflects the concerted effort of everyone coming together in support of those affected by Down syndrome,” said Rajalingam.

This year, the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur is aiming to raise at least RM500,000 through the event, which will go to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation National Centre and other beneficiaries.

This follows the grand total of RM650,000 that was raised through last year’s treasure hunt.

Those interested in participating may begin submitting their entries from now until April 25, as they are limited to 100 entries on a first-come, first-served basis.

The registration and briefing will take place at the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation National Centre in Taman Sea, Petaling Jaya at 10am on May 25.

Those with inquiries may contact 03-7958 3655 (Tang Kwai Ying) or 017-2828 317 (Toh Wei Ming), or visit www.kckl.org.my for the official entry form and more information.

The event will be held from May 31 till June 2, starting from Petaling Jaya and finishing at Ancasa Royale River Resort, Pekan, Pahang.

The charity event aims to raise RM500,000 for KDSF-NC.

"It is our eighth consecutive year of CSR participation and we believe our contributions will help ensure these special children continue receiving the care and development needed for a brighter future," said LBS managing director Datuk Seri Lim Hock San.

He said LBS had always placed emphasis on supporting efforts to enrich the community, especially those with special needs.

"We firmly believe in promoting sustainable living which will provide a better future for everyone.

We hope this contribution will go a long way for the parents and children," he said during the launch of the hunt.
