160 Participate In NPC-FGV 'Kembara Warisan Melaka'
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- A total of 160 participants in 35 vehicles who took part in the treasure hunt 'Kembara Warisan Melaka NPC-FGV 2013' left for Melaka today.

The hunt was flagged off by Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) president and chief executive officer Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah at Dewan Perdana Felda, here.
"The hunt gives us an opportunity to assist in educating the media and members of the public on what we do in a more interesting an informal manner," he told reporters after the flagging-off ceremony.
The hunt which was divided into two categories, ie, the media and open categories, will test the participants' intelligence in winning the attractive prizes including RM5,000, RM3,000 and RM2,000 in cash for the top three winners as well as lucky draws.
Also present were National Press Club (NPC) deputy president M. Veera Pandiyan, Bernama general manager Datuk Yong Soo Heong and the event's organising chairman, M. Govind Nair.
During the journey to Melaka, participants will stop over at several locations such as the Felda Biotechnology Centre in Nilai.
FGV chief operating officer Datuk Khairil Anuar Aziz is scheduled to give away the prizes to the winners tonight.

Meanwhile, Yong said the hunt would inculcate the spirit of goodwill and loyalty, facilitate the gathering of information and knowledge, stimulate critical thinking, promote the practice of courteous driving and create a happy and friendly environment in the civil society.
Govind Nair, meanwhile, said the event formed part the participants' social responsibility to the community because the fund collected would also be channelled to the Rumah Orang Tua Seri Kenangan Cheng, Melaka.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Game for a trishaw treasure hunt? Then, you must enter the KL to Melaka Heritage Hunt 2013 on Oct 26 organised by the National Press Club (NPC) with Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGV) as the Platinum Partner.
Part of the hunt, in the heritage heart of Melaka, will have to be done riding in a trishaw.
Sponsors of the hunt include Solano Advanced Materials, Naza, Proton and Melaka River and Coastal Development Corporation.
Govind Nair said participants of the hunt would also get a complimentary ticket to go on a Melaka River cruise.
The hunt is divided into two categories - media and open. Each category offers cash prizes for up to 10th placing, with RM5,000.00, RM3,000 and RM2,000 as the top three prizes. There is also a lucky draw.
The entry fee is RM200.00 per person. NPC members are entitled to a discount of RM20.00 per person on the entry fee.

NPC Hunt Hits The Road To Melaka On Oct 26
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- The National Press Club (NPC) is organising its annual treasure hunt this year from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka on Oct 26, with Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGV) as its Platinum Partner.
The NPC-FGV KL-Melaka Heritage Hunt 2013 is targeting entries of up to 100 cars with 400 participants, with a one-night accommodation at the Seri Costa Hotel owned and managed by Felda Travel Sdn Bhd, and a river cruise and trishaw ride thrown in.
It also promotes cooperation among the participants, fosters the spirit of goodwill and camaraderie, facilitates the acquisition of knowledge and information, encourages critical thinking, promotes safe driving and creates fun and fellowship in civil society, he said.
FGV President/CEO Emir Mavani Abdullah said FGV viewed both the public and the media as important stakeholders and was eager to venture into new activities and approaches that would contribute towards enhancing its relationship with them.
He said the hunt would also be a good platform for the group to leverage on in an effort to further increase both media and public awareness on the business operations of FGV, which is an affiliate of the Felda Group - the world's largest palm oil producer.
"FGV is a diverse agri-based conglomerate with a wide network of businesses in both upstream and downstream operations. This hunt will be a good opportunity for us to help educate the media and the public on what we do in a more exciting and informal manner," he said.
